Rocky Mountain National Park, located at Estes Park, Colorado, is an unbelievably versatile hiking and climbing area. Lumpy Ridge provides excellent quality granite rock climbing, just north of Estes, and further into the park exists some of the best alpine climbing in the state. Three of the four Colorado climbs noted in the book Fifty Classic Climbs of North America, by Steve Roper & Allen Steck, are located right here in the Park - on the Diamond of Longs Peak, Hallett Peak, and the Petit Grepon. Longs Peak also hosts the 3rd class Keyhole Route to the summit, considered a classic and attempted by thousands every year.
